SCO Secretary General talks about joint military exercises

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization conducts joint military exercises, but they are exclusively of anti-terrorist nature, SCO Secretary General Nurlan Yermekbayev told RIA Novosti.
"Indeed, the SCO conducts joint border operations, anti-terrorist exercises. Military exercises are also held, but they are exclusively of an anti-terrorist nature," Yermekbayev said.
The SCO is an international organisation founded in 2001. It includes India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Belarus, Tajikistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan. Observer countries are Afghanistan and Mongolia, partner countries are Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Cambodia, Cambodia, Egypt, Kuwait, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Sri Lanka, Turkey and UAE.
