Lavrov and Armenian Foreign Minister to discuss bilateral relations at meeting

Russia expects that the talks between Russian and Armenian Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Ararat Mirzoyan scheduled for Tuesday will be held in a constructive manner, focusing on the situation in the South Caucasus with a view to achieving normalization between Yerevan and Baku, the Russian diplomatic ministry said.
“We expect that the upcoming meeting will be held in a constructive manner, will help advance practical issues of interaction, will contribute to strengthening security and stability in Transcaucasia,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement published on its website.
It noted that on January 21, the foreign ministers will have a thorough exchange of views on the whole range of Russian-Armenian relations, cooperation within the EAEU and other integration associations in the Eurasian space, as well as topical issues on the world agenda.
“The focus of attention will be on the situation in the South Caucasus with a view to achieving balanced normalization between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” the Russian diplomatic ministry added.
