Iranian Foreign Minister holds talks with Aliyev's adviser

Azerbaijani President's Advisor on Foreign Policy Hikmet Hajiyev, who is on a visit to Tehran, met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, Mehr reports.

Earlier on Sunday, Hajiyev met with the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council.

"During the meeting with Hajiyev, we exchanged views on political and economic cooperation and regional security issues between the two countries and especially emphasized the importance of the North-South transport corridor," Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Akbar Ahmadian wrote after the meeting.

Aliyev's adviser also met with Iranian Deputy President for Political Affairs Mehdi Sanai.

The visit is being conducted at the official invitation of Iran's Deputy President for Political Affairs.
