Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II appealed to his compatriots to remain faithful to national values and refuse compromises that could harm the homeland.

In his New Year's address, he expressed confidence that despite the current difficulties, the coming year will bring hope and positive expectations.

‘In the face of the difficulties we face, it is important to remain steadfast. We should not solve current problems and give in to imposed demands at the cost of concessions that threaten our homeland, our sacred and traditional values,’ Garegin II emphasised.

He urged to preserve the national identity, relying on historical traditions and the system of values, which, according to him, play a key role in shaping the spirit of the new generation and strengthening the international authority of the state.

Garegin II noted that the New Year is a time for self-analysis and reflection on the future. He urged to use the period to develop initiatives aimed at ensuring the security and well-being of the nation.

‘We can create a new reality based on righteousness, solidarity, respect for the law and patriotism. In this reality, our every action will strengthen the state, protect the rights of the people and ensure a dignified life for all,’ the Supreme Patriarch said, separately emphasising the need to protect the rights of Karabakh Armenians.
