Dagestan negotiates resumption of air communication with Azerbaijan

Dagestan is negotiating the resumption of regular air service with Azerbaijan, the issue of launching direct flights to Georgia and Iran is also being worked out, the republic's government chairman Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov told RIA Novosti.
"Negotiations are underway on the possibility of resuming regular air service with Azerbaijan. The possibility of introducing direct air service with Georgia and Iran is being worked out," Abdulmuslimov said.
According to him, this year regular air service between Makhachkala and several Russian cities - Kaluga, Volgograd, Cheboksary and Naryan-Mar - will be opened.
Over the past three years, passenger traffic at Makhachkala airport has increased by 15.54%, reaching 2.9 million people in 2024, the republic's prime minister added.
