Obsession with rejection of everything national has become a line accompanying the policy of the current Armenian authorities. This opinion was expressed by Arman Maloyan, a historian, candidate of historical sciences, in a conversation with Sputnik Armenia.

“The policy of the current Armenian authorities was not a surprise for us, because the tendencies of distancing from the national, subordinating the national to the universal, “universal”, have been noticeable for a long time. But this is a false message,” our interlocutor believes.

In fact, in the scientist's opinion, the only true road to the universal, universal, universal, starts from national origins. That is, those who have no idea about the role and significance of national values, will not be able to appreciate at face value the things created by other nations.

At the same time, according to the scholar's observations, those who oppose such a policy are persecuted by the authorities.

“The authorities have treated the subject “Armenian History”, which was renamed and became “History of Armenia”, in a particularly barbaric manner. Especially the mentioning of Artsakh - at all costs they avoid mentioning this toponym in the 11th grade textbook. The representative of the Ministry of Education and Science tried to justify herself by saying that the history of the Republic of Artsakh is studied in the 9th grade. But the respected representative forgot that it was in the old textbooks. From September these textbooks for 9th grade will be out of use, and our schools will be left with textbooks with the same barbaric changes,” the historian notes.

The historian is alarmed by the fact that in this situation a large number of specialists are silently and passively watching history being distorted. He emphasizes that it is time for Armenian teachers to stop being afraid of dismissal or other pressure and express their opinion and point of view, not allowing the national values that have been the basis of Armenian upbringing and education for centuries to be forgotten.
