Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan signed a number of documents

The presidents of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan signed a joint statement on expanding the comprehensive strategic partnership and 16 other documents. These include an agreement on resort facilities in Issyk-Kul and a plan to increase mutual trade.
The talks between Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov resulted in the adoption of a package of bilateral documents, the press service of the head of state reported.
The presidents signed a joint statement on further deepening and expansion of relations of comprehensive strategic partnership.
During the state visit 16 documents were also signed, including:
intergovernmental agreement on resort and recreational facilities located on the territory of Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan;
a protocol on amending the intergovernmental agreement on mutual travel of citizens;
Protocol on the completion of bilateral negotiations on Uzbekistan's accession to the World Trade Organisation;
protocol on cooperation in the field of construction activities;
a protocol on cooperation in the area of labour, employment and migration;
A protocol on cooperation in the field of culture and the arts;
protocol on co-operation in the field of civil service;
plan of measures to increase mutual trade for 2024-2030;
a plan of practical measures for the development of co-operation in the field of physical culture and sport for 2024-2026;
roadmap for further development of co-operation in the sphere of agriculture and food supply for 2024-2026;
an action plan for the development of co-operation between Tashkent and Bishkek for 2024-2026;
a memorandum between the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan and the National Institute for Strategic Initiatives under the President of Kyrgyzstan.
The two leaders also launched a number of major cooperation projects in the energy, transport and textile sectors. Among them are solar power plants in Fergana and Namangan oblasts and an automobile plant in Chui oblast.
