Ukraine's National Flag Day will be celebrated in Tbilisi with a procession across the Peace Bridge

The Day of the State Flag of Ukraine will be marked with a march in Tbilisi on August 23.

The event is organized by Georgian and Ukrainian activists.

The gathering is scheduled for 18:40 on the right embankment of Mtkvari near the Peace Bridge. At 19:00 participants will march across the bridge with the Ukrainian flag. Activists call on everyone who cheers for freedom to join the procession.

“Let's unite! Our flag - a symbol of peace and freedom - should fly high and declare to the world: today Ukraine is the guarantor of the victory of light and good,” the organizers write on Facebook.

The Day of the State Flag of Ukraine is celebrated annually on August 23, on the eve of Independence Day. The holiday was established in 2004 by President Leonid Kuchma.

Last year Ukrainians in Tbilisi also celebrated this day with a procession. At that time, a 32-meter blue-yellow flag was unfurled on the Peace Bridge as a symbol of Ukraine's 32 years of independence.
