Ukraine ready for talks with Russia - Kuleba

Kiev is ready for talks on a peaceful settlement of the conflict with Russia, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said during a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in China.

‘Ukraine is willing and ready to participate in dialogue and negotiations with Russia. Of course, the negotiations should be reasonable and substantive and aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace,’ the statement said.

Wang Yi noted that the crisis in Ukraine is in its third year and the risk of escalation remains.

‘We support all efforts to promote peace and are ready to continue to play a constructive role in the ceasefire, cessation of hostilities and resumption of peace talks,’ the Foreign Ministry pointed out.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine could end the ‘hot stage’ of the war by the end of the year.
