In Moscow, the activities of members of a criminal group accused of helping citizens of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan illegally obtain Russian citizenship for monetary remuneration in the amount of 150,000 to 350,000 rubles have been suppressed.

According to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, the defendants, having knowledge of the work of state bodies and having connections with officials, created an organized group in 2023.

They looked for citizens of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan who wanted to obtain Russian citizenship, made them fake passports of Ukraine and fictitious certificates of registration in the Donetsk People's Republic, which allowed foreigners to obtain Russian citizenship in a simplified procedure.

The First Department for Investigation of Especially Important Cases of the Main Investigation Directorate of the Moscow Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the article of organization of illegal migration, in the framework of which nine organizers of the criminal group were detained. They have been charged.

The persons who illegally obtained Russian citizenship were also brought in for investigative actions. The investigation has initiated the issue of deprivation of their citizenship and further deportation.

Necessary investigative actions and operational-search activities are being carried out to establish all the circumstances of criminal activity of the participants of the organized criminal group and their accomplices.
