“Mother Armenia": The issue of holding new elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan is more relevant than ever

At this moment the issue of holding new elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan is more relevant than ever, especially since there have been no disagreements between the incumbent authorities and the opposition on this issue. This was stated by Manuk Sukiasyan, head of the Mother Armenia bloc faction, at the session of the Yerevan Council of Elders on October 15.

According to his assessment, the Erebuni-Yerevan holiday would have been more complete if the Council members themselves had presented a gift to the Yerevan residents. He added that it would have been possible if the agreement reached at the previous session of the Council of Elders had been fulfilled and the issue of holding early elections had been included in the agenda.

Mayor Tigran Avinyan replied that it would be possible to discuss the issue in a question-and-answer format.

As it has been reported, on September 10 at the session of Yerevan Council of Elders Avinian said that he is ready to go for early elections only if an appropriate mechanism is proposed.
