Armenia has data on more than 2,000 of its citizens who are subject to deportation from the United States. This was stated by Chief Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zare Sinanyan.

In late January, the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) published a report according to which 2,808 Armenian citizens are to be deported under President Donald Trump's migration policy against illegal immigrants.

‘We know of more than 2,000 Armenian citizens, but the number is higher. How many of them have already been deported - we do not know,’ Sinanyan noted.

According to him, other structures are dealing with this issue, and the deported citizens cannot be considered part of the diaspora, as they were in the U.S. illegally.
