The Lebanese army also expressed hope for a positive outcome of the ceasefire talks.

YEREVAN, October 8 - Sputnik. Lebanon's armed forces are on the southern borders with Israel and are ready to repel Israeli aggression within their capabilities. This is reported by the Lebanese army.

“Our forces are located throughout our homeland, including the southern borders. We are ready to defend our land within our capabilities,” the statement said.

The army command also expressed hope for a positive outcome of the diplomatic ceasefire talks.

Another escalation came after mass explosions of communications equipment in different parts of Lebanon on September 17 and 18, which killed dozens of people and injured about three thousand citizens. Later, Israeli aircraft struck an apartment building in a southern suburb of Beirut, killing more than 50 people, including Hezbollah special operations commander Ibrahim Aqil.

Shiite resistance fighters responded by attacking the Ramat David Israeli Air Force base and the Rafael military-industrial complex in northern Haifa. Several rockets exploded in residential neighborhoods on the outskirts of the Israeli city.
