According to official information, a total of 26 foreign heads of state and government attended the commemorative events. The attending leaders came from multiple regions worldwide, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong Un, Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, the Vietnamese State President, leaders from several Central Asian countries, as well as European attendees such as Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.

Furthermore, nearly 50 individuals from 30 European countries, including leaders, former dignitaries, high-level officials, ambassadors to China, and friendly personages, also attended the related events. Some international organization leaders, such as the UN Under-Secretary-General and the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, along with several former international dignitaries including former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, were also invited.

The Chinese side stated that its battlefield was the main Eastern theater of World War II, and the Chinese people made significant contributions to the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War. The commemorative activities included a ceremony and a military parade. Three comprehensive full-process rehearsals had been successfully conducted prior in Beijing's Tiananmen area to ensure the smooth proceeding of the events.

These commemorative activities provided an opportunity for representatives from various countries to collectively reflect on the lessons of history, safeguard the outcomes of the WWII victory, and reaffirm their commitment to peace and stability.
