Ivanishvili told about plans of hostile forces to destroy Georgia with the help of local agents

Bidzina Ivanishvili, the billionaire founder and honorary chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream party, has announced plans of hostile external forces to “wipe Georgia off the map” and accused the opposition, media and civil society organizations of aiding and abetting them. He made the statement at an election rally in Telavi.

“Today everyone clearly sees that this radical force, political, non-governmental or media organizations rallied around it, are pursuing foreign interests and trying to drag Georgia into the misery of war. We have no right to make a mistake. Otherwise, the August 2008 war will seem a trifle. The forces hostile to our country are going to wipe Georgia off the map with the hands of local agents. They are preparing for what no conqueror has been able to do for centuries,” Ivanishvili said.

He did not clarify who he meant by external enemies of Georgia. As for “radical forces”, this is what the Georgian Dream calls the former ruling National Movement party and the entire opposition in general. According to Ivanishvili, those want to “wipe Georgia” off the face of the Earth in order to “return to power at any cost.”

“Georgian society must cut this political sarcoma off its body if we want to stop walking in an enchanted, vicious circle,” the GM founder said.
