Some figures in Armenia have initiated active activities to form a new opposition. The “Hraparak” newspaper writes about it, elaborating on the topic.

“They are holding political consultations towards the formation of the so-called centrist force, which, according to their calculations, will have a great chance of winning the elections, as it will not be linked to either the current or the former authorities. This force will first of all set itself the task of tearing off the mask of pseudo-Westerners in Armenia, showing the public that they are enemies of Armenia and serve the interests of Nikol Pashinyan. The consultations involve former Armenian Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan, former Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan, the Armenian National Congress, Country for Life and a number of other forces.

Even the candidacy of Edmon Marukyan was considered in this alliance, but as a result of discussions they came to the conclusion that his inclusion could be detrimental, as he could be associated with Nikol Pashinyan's name.

However, the political figures unanimously denied the information about consultations, and Edmon Marukyan also stated that he periodically holds meetings with the ANC,” the newspaper notes.
