Georgian President Mikhail Kavelashvili has withdrawn from the constitutional court a lawsuit against the law on foreign agents, which was earlier filed by former head of state Salome Zurabishvili, the presidential press service reported.

"Georgian President Mikhail Kavelashvili has withdrawn from the suit of former President Salome Zurabishvili to the constitutional court in connection with the law "On Transparency of Foreign Influence"," the report reads.

It is noted that this law "contributes to the protection of the national sovereignty of the state and the stable development of the country." "The law is designed to inform the public as widely as possible about the origin of funding of organizations pursuing the interests of foreign power. Accordingly, Georgian President Mikhail Kavelashvili has decided to reject this lawsuit," the report emphasizes.
