Parliamentary elections in Georgia 2024

Parliamentary elections will be held on October 26. The main struggle will unfold between the ruling Georgian Dream and the opposition, which the leaders of the ruling party call “the collective ‘National Movement’ and ‘radical opposition’, who are trying to shake up the situation in Georgia, organize a revolution and, in case of a change of power, drag the country into war.

For the first time parliamentary elections in Georgia will be held by electronic voting system - new ballots and a special counting machine will be used. New technologies will be applied at 90% of polling stations.

This will also be the first parliamentary elections in Georgia, which will be held entirely under the proportional system (150 seats in the parliament will be filled by voting for parties). A party will be able to enter parliament with at least 5% of the popular vote.

The party that wins more than half of the seats in parliament will be able to present a candidate for prime minister and solely approve the government presented by him/her.
