Azerbaijan has applied for BRICS membership

Azerbaijan has officially applied to join BRICS.

TASS reports that Azerbaijan has officially applied to join BRICS, reports Armenpress.

Baku's desire to join BRICS was reflected in the joint declaration on establishing strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and China adopted in early July within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Astana.

BRICS is an interstate association of Brazil, Russia, India, China, the Republic of South Africa and, this year, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia.
