Armenian Defense Ministry denied reports of shelling of Azerbaijani positions

The Azerbaijani side for the second day in a row claims the ceasefire regime has been violated.

YEREVAN, September 5 - Sputnik. The Armenian Defense Ministry denied statements about shelling of Azerbaijani positions.

Earlier, the Azerbaijani side said that the Armenian Armed Forces allegedly shelled Azerbaijani positions in the Kelbajar direction.

“The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry's report that allegedly on September 5 at about 09:55, units of the Armenian Armed Forces opened fire in the direction of Azerbaijani positions located in the eastern part of the border zone does not correspond to reality,” the report says.

The Armenian Defense Ministry once again reminded that the Armenian Prime Minister's Office proposed to create a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism to investigate ceasefire violations and/or information about them, to which Azerbaijan has not yet responded.
