Armenian customs officers foiled an attempt to import a large consignment of smuggled cigarettes from Iran

A protocol on violation of customs regulations was drawn up. Administrative proceedings have been initiated.


YEREVAN, September 20 - Sputnik. An attempt to import 58,750 packs of smuggled cigarettes from Iran to Armenia has been stopped. This is reported by the press service of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia.


It is noted that a truck, which was to import iodized salt from Iran, was inspected at the customs point in Agarak.


It turned out that smuggled cigarettes of different brands were hidden in the bags with salt.


A protocol on violation of customs rules was drawn up in accordance with Article 313 of the RA Law “On Customs Regulation”. Administrative proceedings have been initiated.
