Official Yerevan, according to the country's president, hopes to sign the document before the Climate Change Conference in Baku.

YEREVAN, October 8 - Sputnik. Armenia hopes to sign the provisions of the peace agreement with Azerbaijan within the next four weeks. Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan told Reuters.

Yerevan, he said, hopes Azerbaijan will sign the 16 articles before the COP29 Climate Change Conference, which Baku is hosting from November 11-22.

“If it depended only on us, we would sign it right now, today, but we hope to reach this point sooner or later,” Khachaturian said.

The Armenian head of state noted that several more articles are still under negotiation with Azerbaijani officials.

The Armenian president also noted that negotiations with Turkey, a close ally of Azerbaijan, are going well: the issue of opening the border between the two countries for third-country nationals and persons with diplomatic passports is under consideration.

“This will be a signal that true diplomatic relations have become a reality,” he said.

Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that Yerevan is ready to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan on the basis of the agreed 80% points of the document.

At the same time, Baku earlier rejected Yerevan's proposal to sign the agreed part of the draft treaty.
