Another protest rally takes place in the center of Tbilisi

Another protest rally demanding new elections and release of persons detained during the rallies is taking place in the center of Tbilisi, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.
Several hundred people are taking part in the rally, the central Rustaveli Avenue in front of the parliament is blocked to automobile traffic. This is the 56th day of continuous actions in the Georgian capital. The demonstration is peaceful and patrol police brigades have been mobilized on the spot.
Continuous protests in Georgia began after Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced on November 28, 2024 that he had decided to suspend consideration of starting negotiations on the country's membership in the European Union until 2028. Law enforcers detained several hundred people during the actions.
