Another anti-government protest is taking place in the center of the Georgian capital, Rustaveli Avenue adjacent to the parliament is blocked, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

Before the demonstration on the avenue, several thousand people marched in a procession through the central streets of Tbilisi. Along with the main demand to call new parliamentary elections, the demonstrators are demanding the release of citizens previously detained during the protests.

This is the 80th day of continuous protests. The protests began after Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced on November 28, 2024 that he had decided to suspend consideration of the issue of starting negotiations on the country's membership in the European Union until 2028. Law enforcers detained several hundred people during the rallies.
