Ukraine is not negotiating with its Western allies about a possible ceasefire with Russia in exchange for guarantees from them, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

“This is not a topic of our discussions, any ceasefire, with allies, and we have not talked about it [with Macron]. I saw in the media that today there was a lot of information that I came to talk about a ceasefire. No, no, that's not true,” he told a press conference after meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.

He also emphasized that the next peace summit should be held in November, its date has not yet been set.

“The [victory] plan will be on the table. I don't know the date, I don't think anyone knows as of today. But we will have everything we have decided ready at the beginning of November. The plan will be with all the details,” Zelensky said.

On October 10, the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera reported without citing a source that Vladimir Zelensky “would be ready for a ceasefire along the current front line without recognizing new borders” under the conditions of receiving security guarantees from the United States and rapid EU accession.
