Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Vladimir Zelensky has put himself in an impasse by banning negotiations with Russia.
“He has driven himself into a deadlock with his decree banning negotiations with the Russian Federation on a peace treaty, stopped these negotiations,” Putin said in an interview with Pavel Zarubin on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.
The Russian leader also expressed the opinion that Zelensky's chances of winning future elections are zero.
“There are absolutely no chances for the current head of the regime to win the elections, they are equal to zero,” Putin emphasized.
In addition, the Russian president called Zelensky a “toxic figure” for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and society as a whole.
“Today's head of the Kiev regime is becoming a toxic figure for the AFU because he gives ridiculous orders dictated not by military considerations, but by political ones. This leads to large unjustified, catastrophic losses for the Ukrainian army,” Putin said.
He also added that Zelensky is “a factor in the decomposition of the army, society and the state.”
At the same time, the Russian president expressed the opinion that former US President Donald Trump, on the contrary, wants to stabilize the situation in Ukraine.
“He wants to revitalize the political situation in Ukraine, consolidate society, and create conditions for the survival of the Ukrainian state,” Putin said.
