Ukraine would retain its 1991 borders, but without Crimea and parts of Donbass, if Kiev goes for cooperation and implements its own initiatives, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, speaking about the origins of the conflict.

“Every time they cheat, they lose. This process continues,” Lavrov said in an interview with US bloggers Andrew Napolitano, Larry Johnson and Mario Naufal.

Kiev needed to honor the Minsk agreements in order to preserve the borders. Also, the foreign minister recalled that in 2022 in Istanbul, the Ukrainian side presented a document adopted by Russia, according to which the country gave up the path to NATO membership, but later the Kiev regime abandoned the agreement under the influence of former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

“Johnson told the Ukrainians not to sign the treaty and to keep fighting - just as the head of Germany's federal intelligence service, Bruno Kahl, is now telling the Ukrainians that they should not stop until 2029. “Maybe they want to 'out-sit' (US President) Donald Trump,” Lavrov emphasized.

The foreign minister also said there is a desire to “remilitarize” Europe, and this agenda is being actively promoted by European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen, whom Lavrov called “Führer Ursula.”

According to him, the European Union in the past still retained some semblance of an economic association, but now it has completely lost this characteristic.
