Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that two articles of the draft peace treaty with Baku continue to remain uncoordinated.

There are many layers, many nuances. In particular, the sides failed to reach an agreement, including on the issue of European observers on the border. Another unagreed point, as we know, is the mutual withdrawal of lawsuits in international instances.

At the same time, Pashinyan noted that Baku has not yet officially responded to Yerevan's unblocking proposal made at the end of last year. At issue is the restoration of the railroad's operation.

“I often analyze and think why Azerbaijan should give a negative answer, and objective analysis shows that there are no grounds for refusal,” he said while talking to journalists in parliament following a closed-door meeting with the party's activists.

Armenia is ready to open a road from “mainland” Azerbaijan to Nakhijevan on the same principle as the road through Iran. However, even in this case Yerevan is ready to go for additional simplification of the road's functioning regime, on a mutual basis, Pashinyan said.

He specified that Yerevan has made proposals to Baku, which are acceptable to both Armenian and Azerbaijani peoples.

Pashinyan added that Armenia has never signed any document providing for belittling or ignoring the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Prime Minister said this while commenting on statements from Baku that the passage to Nakhijevan through Armenian territory should be without checks.

When asked about the possibility of escalation in the region, the Prime Minister said he sees no reasons and grounds for it.

On February 25, the Armenian Foreign Ministry announced the receipt of the 12th package of peace treaty proposals from the Azerbaijani side, specifying that the proposals on unblocking communications, mutual control mechanism and verification of weapons still remain unanswered.
