A Eurobarometer survey showed a decline in trust in the EU in Georgia to 49%.

These are the results of a survey conducted in April this year among 1,011 respondents. In October-November last year, the level of trust in the EU in Georgia among respondents was 58%.

Eurobarometer is a series of public opinion polls that have been conducted regularly on behalf of the European Commission and other EU institutions since 1974.

This spring, 37% of respondents in Georgia said they tended not to trust the European Union, while 14% said they did not know.

Forty-three percent of respondents have a positive attitude toward the European Union, 38% are neutral, 18% are negative, and 1% did not answer the question.

Since the fall, the number of citizens who believe that the country's membership in the European Union is a good thing has decreased by 9% to 60%. Another 7% of respondents believe that EU membership is bad for the country, and 28% believe that it is neither good nor bad.

At the same time, 75% of respondents agree that EU membership will benefit Georgia, a decrease of 7% compared to the previous survey.

The poll also showed that 51% of respondents trust the government, while 44% do not. Forty-five percent of respondents trust the parliament, while 48% do not.

At the same time, 40% of respondents assess the economic situation in the country as good, while 56% believe that the economic situation in Georgia is bad. Thirty-three percent of respondents consider the cost of living and rising prices to be the most important problems facing the country. Twenty-four percent put unemployment at the top of the list of problems.
