US President Donald Trump said that his meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin could take place in Saudi Arabia, according to American media.
Trump made this assumption to journalists from the presidential pool in the Oval Office.
At the same time, the head of the White House added that he would probably visit Russia and wait for Putin in the US.
"We assume that he will come here, and I will go there (to Russia). And our first meeting will probably take place in Saudi Arabia. We want to end this war," he said.
The American leader specified that Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud is involved in organizing the meeting between the leaders of the Russian Federation and the US.
Regarding the visit to Ukraine, Trump said that he "would think about it." Answering a question from journalists, the US president said that he considers Ukraine's accession to NATO "unfeasible."
Trump also emphasized that the US has allocated more than $350 billion to Ukraine without receiving anything in return. In this regard, he said that in the future Washington will continue to support Kyiv, but will expect compensation in the form of deliveries of rare earth minerals.
Earlier, the American and Russian presidents had a lengthy telephone conversation, discussing the conflict in Ukraine and the possibility of starting negotiations upon its completion.
