Peace for Armenians in exchange for Armenia. Baku toughens its demands

Sputnik Armenia columnist Arman Abovyan is perplexed by the aspiration of the current Armenian authorities to maximally support the plans of Turkey and Azerbaijan to close the ‘Armenian issue’ once and for all.
What is happening in Armenia, or rather around the so-called negotiations between Armenia and the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem cannot be called anything but an imitation of the peace process.
Of course, the current Armenian authorities will never admit that they have actually failed everything and anything regarding the peace agenda, and to be more precise, the ‘peace process’ ‘in the Pashinyan way’ implies giving up the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia in exchange for ‘promises on paper’ on the part of Turkey and Azerbaijan not to attack Armenia and not to kill Armenians.
The paradox of the situation is that the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem does not hide that the minimum programme for these countries is to create such conditions for Armenians, under which the physical, legal and economic existence of Armenia will be reduced to a minimum in the medium term.
In order not to be unsubstantiated, let us simply recall the conditions for ‘peace’ that the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem sets before Armenia.
So, the main condition for achieving peace Azerbaijan (read - Turkey) puts forward the dismantling of the legal foundation of the Republic of Armenia, i.e. changing the Constitution of Armenia.
The second condition is the disarmament and reduction of the Armenian army, i.e. Armenia is left defenceless. The third point is that Azerbaijan demands Armenia's consent to the actual annexation by the Turkic element of the Syunik region of Armenia under the aegis of the ‘Zangezur corridor’. And the ‘Turkish cherry on the cake’ is Armenia's consent to the settlement of hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis in our country within the framework of the absolutely idiotic, but nevertheless actively promoted by the Turks doctrine of ‘Western Azerbaijan’.
A quite logical question arises: if the Armenian side somehow agrees to the terms of the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem, then, of course, in this case Armenia ceases to exist as a state, or the existence of Armenia purely from the legal point of view will be just some formal attribute, which will certainly be abolished within a few years.
Of course, from a purely geopolitical point of view, the desire of Turkey and Azerbaijan to close the ‘Armenian issue’ once and for all is quite understandable, since both Turkey and Azerbaijan understand that the presence of an autochthonous Armenian ethnic element with its own state will always hang a sword of Damocles over Turkey's plans to create a ‘new empire’ within the framework of the concept of Turanian unity and, therefore, all the steps of the various Turks towards Armenia are logical from the point of view of their strategic plans.
The manic endeavour of the Armenian authorities in Pashinyan's administration to maximise support for these plans, who constantly refer to the alleged ‘peace talks’, which in reality do not exist, is incomprehensible.
It is clear even to a person not versed in regional politics that negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the current format and in the current logic cannot even theoretically proceed towards the establishment of peace.
And the word ‘peace’ is just a beautiful decoration of the ‘road map’ for the dismantling of Armenia.
It should be understood that all what we are witnessing now in the context of fake ‘peace talks’ is just twisting the hands of Armenians in order to extract the consent of the Armenian public to voluntary national suicide for the sake of ‘peace’.
And here a legitimate question arises: is the Armenian authorities deliberately leading Armenia to destruction, expecting in return to receive ‘peace’ for the Armenian population?
Unfortunately, the absurd formulation of the question quite adequately reflects the realities into which the ‘velvet revolutionaries’ have deliberately driven Armenia and Armenians.
