Another anti-government protests demanding the appointment of new elections and the release of persons detained during the rallies are taking place in the center of Tbilisi, as well as in major cities of Georgia, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

The central Rustaveli Avenue in front of the parliament in the capital is blocked to automobile traffic. This is the 60th day of continuous actions in Georgia. Several hundred people are taking part in the action in Tbilisi, with marches along the central streets throughout the day. Georgian TV stations are broadcasting footage of demonstrations in the cities of Batumi, Zugdidi and Kutaisi.

Continuous protests in Georgia began after Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced on November 28, 2024 that he had decided to suspend consideration of the issue of starting negotiations on the country's membership in the European Union until 2028. Law enforcers detained several hundred people during the actions.
