Mukhtar Babayev: Azerbaijan bids to host UN Conference of Parties to Convention on Biological Diversity for 2026

“Azerbaijan has submitted its bid to host the 17th meeting of the UN Conference of the Parties (COP) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in 2026,” said Mukhtar Babayev, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, COP29 President-Designate, as he addressed the inaugural function of the Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW2024) on Monday.

According to him, the final decision on hosting will be adopted during the 16th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 16) in Cali, Columbia.
