Khatia Tsilosani will be appointed as Georgia's permanent representative to the Council of Europe, replacing Tamar Taliashvili, who is leaving for Washington to serve as ambassador to the United States.

Khatia Tsilosani is 41 years old.

She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tbilisi State University, then completed a master's degree in international relations at the University of Georgia (USA).

She began her career at the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI), where she worked on parliamentary projects in 2011–2012, including at the Parliamentary Communication Center. From 2012 to 2017, she held senior positions at the Georgian Ministry of Agriculture, where she oversaw international relations and European integration issues. From 2017 to 2020, she was Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture.

Since 2020, she has been a member of parliament for the ruling Georgian Dream party. Over the years, she has been a member of committees on agricultural issues, environmental protection, defense and security, and European integration. She was the first deputy chair of the committee on ecology. She represented Georgia in parliamentary delegations to NATO, PACE, Euronest, the Interparliamentary Union, and the EU-Georgia Parliamentary Association Committee.

Tsilosani never went against the party line and supported all controversial legislative initiatives of the ruling party, including the law on foreign agents, which sparked large-scale protests in Georgia. Nevertheless, Tsilosani did not make it onto the Georgian Dream party's electoral list ahead of the October 2024 parliamentary elections — but, as it turned out, an honorary appointment in Strasbourg awaits her.
