Law enforcement agencies have detained a resident of Yekaterinburg, calling through social networks to set fire to military enlistment centres with Molotov cocktails, law enforcement agencies told RIA Novosti.
‘In Yekaterinburg, law enforcers detained a local resident, born in 2001, who called for terrorist attacks. The detainee confessed that while in Georgia, he urged through social networks to set fire to military enlistment centres and military units with Molotov cocktails,’ the agency's interlocutor said.
A criminal case has been opened against him under part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Russian Criminal Code (Public calls to carry out terrorist activities committed via the Internet).
‘The failed terrorist systematically used drugs and psychotropic substances, was previously convicted for their possession and is already familiar with the life and procedures in places of detention,’ the source added.
In an operational video shared with the agency by the source, the detainee said he had published calls to set fire to military facilities on Russian territory, but regretted it and ‘undertakes not to allow such things in the future.’
The law enforcement agencies also said the figure ‘has a predilection’ for Ukrainian terrorist organisations banned in Russia and former Yekaterinburg mayor Yevgeny Roizman*, ‘whose freedom he has repeatedly defended during protest actions’.
