How much Georgia and Russia will trade in 2024

Trade turnover between Georgia and Russia in 2024 increased by 5.4% compared to 2023 and amounted to 2.5 billion dollars, while exports to Russia increased by 3.7%, the National Statistics Service of Georgia “Sakstat” reported.
According to Sakstat, Russia's share in Georgia's foreign trade turnover in 2024 amounted to 10.8%.
141.4 thousand tons of mineral and fresh water, 69.9 thousand tons of water, including mineral and carbonated water containing sugar additives, 66.7 thousand tons of natural grape wine, 39.8 thousand tons of alcoholic beverages, as well as 29.4 thousand tons of fruits were exported from Georgia to Russia.
Russia remains the largest supplier of grain to Georgia. According to statistics, 324.7 thousand tons of wheat and meslin were imported from the neighboring country in January-December 2024.
Russia also imported 698.1 thousand tons of oil and oil products, 650.7 thousand tons of natural and associated gases, 199.8 thousand tons of carbon steel bars without further processing, as well as 41.8 thousand tons of sunflower, safflower or cotton oil and their fractions.
The countries traded $2.4 billion in 2023, down 3% from 2022. At the same time, exports from Georgia to Russia increased by 2.3%, while imports from Russia to Georgia decreased by 5%.
