Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze headed a delegation on a visit to the United Arab Emirates, the press service of the government administration reported.

Within the framework of the visit, the Georgian Prime Minister will hold a meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as well as with the Minister of Tolerance Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.

During the visit, a memorandum of cooperation will be signed with the largest real estate development company EMAAR. According to the agreement, multi-billion dollar investments will be made in Georgia.

In addition, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with the Abu Dhabi State Investment Company and its logistics division Abu Dhabi Ports Group, which is actively involved in the development of the Middle Corridor.

The company is also implementing the Tbilisi Dry Port project, which will be completed in 2025. The company owns 60% of shares and is the main partner of the project. Further expansion of cooperation with Abu Dhabi Ports Group in strategic, logistics and transportation projects is planned.

“Dry Port” is a modern logistics center, an extension of the ports of Batumi and Poti, which serves them, connecting ports and logistics facilities.

It will connect the production centers of Western Asia with the consumer markets of Eastern Europe through the “Middle Corridor”, using the network of sea and “dry ports” of Georgia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Kazakhstan.

The Georgian Prime Minister traveled to Abu Dhabi with a delegation that included First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Tornike Rizhvadze and Head of the Government Administration Levan Jorjoliani.

The President and Vice Presidents of the United Arab Emirates were among the first to congratulate Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and the Georgian Dream on the victory in the October 26 parliamentary elections.

Georgia and the UAE established diplomatic relations on October 20, 1992. The countries are interested in developing cooperation in the spheres of economy, investment and tourism.

The UAE is already Georgia's leading trade partner among Arab countries.

The countries are bound by a comprehensive economic cooperation agreement. Within the framework of the document, 95% of export products of both countries are exempt from taxes.

According to the agreement, the UAE has opened its market for Georgia-produced products such as beef and mutton, honey, nuts, mineral water, the bulk of canned fruits and vegetables, soft drinks, nitrogen fertilizers, textiles, etc.
