Georgian President pardons prisoners for the first time after inauguration

Georgian President Mikhail Kavelashvili has pardoned 613 prisoners for the first time since his inauguration, according to a statement on his social media page.

“Georgian President Mikhail Kavelashvili pardoned 613 convicts in connection with the celebration of the Epiphany of the Lord,” the statement noted.

The statement said that “those pardoned were given the opportunity to return to their families and become full members of society again.”
