The Baltic states' sanctions against Georgia represent the culmination of anti-Georgian policy, Georgian parliament speaker Shalva Papuashvili said on Tuesday.

The day before, Lithuania imposed sanctions on 10 more Georgian citizens. The sanctions targeted the head of the Adjara government, Sulkhan Tamazashvili, members of parliament, and judges. These individuals are banned from entering Lithuania.

"This obsession of the Baltic states is no longer serious. It is difficult to explain the special hostility they feel towards the Georgian people. It is about their hostile policy towards the Georgian people… This is the culmination of anti-Georgian policy," Papuashvili told journalists.

The speaker recalled that the Baltic political elite had always previously supported the former Georgian authorities led by former President Mikheil Saakashvili.

According to the Lithuanian Migration Department, visa restrictions are already in effect for 112 Georgian citizens.

Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia were the first to impose sanctions on the Georgian authorities amid mass protests over the country's refusal to integrate into Europe in 2024.
