Since 2020 and up to now, it has not been possible to get rid of volunteers in the Armed Forces, and it causes great harm to the army, which the military keeps silent about. This was stated by Movses Hakobyan, former Chief of General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, in a conversation with 24News.
According to him, it has not been possible to stop the entry of volunteers into the Armed Forces since 2020. "The military may not say openly how much it hurts them. But I know that it does. We are talking about all those structures that are not authorized to carry weapons, and not only the Yerkrapah Volunteer Union," Hakobyan added.
He expressed confidence that the problem of replenishing the Armed Forces is related to the fact that the emphasis is made only on material provision. "Whereas the army should also have people ready to serve the Motherland for ideological reasons," Hakobyan emphasized.
