Kürşat Zorlu, Deputy Chairman of Turkiye’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) responsible for relations with Turkic states, emphasized the importance of joint efforts to open the Zangezur Corridor.

Zorlu shared a post on social media regarding Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s participation in the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) held in Khankendi. He described the dialogue between the leaders of Turkiye and Azerbaijan as a symbol of the unshakeable brotherhood between the two nations.

Zorlu stated: “As President Erdoğan noted, Turkiye and Azerbaijan are united not merely by friendship but by strong brotherly ties. The phrase ‘One nation, two states’ has gained profound meaning. Our countries have repeatedly demonstrated support for each other during the most critical and significant moments in history.”

The politician highlighted that the opening of the Zangezur Corridor will create new opportunities not only for Azerbaijan but for the entire region. His post noted: “This route holds not only geopolitical but also geo-economic significance. The Zangezur Corridor will bring the Turkic world closer together and serve as a strategic catalyst for the Middle Corridor. Under President Erdoğan’s leadership, Turkiye will continue its resolute efforts toward this goal. The joint steps taken to open the Zangezur Corridor represent a historic process for both Turkiye and the entire Turkic world.”
