Catholicos Aram I shared his thoughts on overcoming the crisis with Garegin II.

Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia presented his vision for resolving the current crisis to Catholicos Garegin II of All Armenians. This was reported by the television channel “Cilicia TV.”

It is specified that representatives of the Catholicosate of Cilicia visited Echmiadzin and held a meeting with Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II. They conveyed Aram I's concern about the situation and emphasized the importance of preserving a strong and united Armenian Apostolic Church, faithful to its spiritual mission and national service.

Earlier, Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia condemned the actions of the Armenian security forces in Echmiadzin and called for respect for holy sites.

The confrontation between the Armenian authorities and the Armenian Apostolic Church escalated after Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's posts on social media, in which he made extremely harsh statements and levelled accusations against the senior clergy. He later proposed changing the procedure for electing the Catholicos of All Armenians, suggesting that the state should play a decisive role in this process.

On June 26, Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan was arrested in Yerevan on charges of actions aimed at the violent seizure of power. On June 28, Archbishop Mikael Adzhapakhian, head of the Shirak Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, was arrested on charges of publicly calling for the seizure of power and the overthrow of the constitutional order.
