On June 3, as part of his visit to Kenya, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov was received by the President of Kenya, William Samoei Ruto.

The parties emphasized that high-level mutual visits, political dialogue, and inter-agency contacts serve the development of cooperation.

They also highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation within international organizations and expressed confidence that the partnership will be reinforced in all areas.

In addition, opportunities for cooperation in the fields of economy, energy, agriculture, education, culture, tourism, and governance were discussed.

They noted that there are broad opportunities for collaboration in information and communication technologies, digital economy, energy, and mineral resources, and that organizing joint business forums and trade missions to define specific cooperation directions would be beneficial.

The significance of African countries in Azerbaijan’s foreign policy was underscored, with an emphasis on the interest in developing cooperation not only with Kenya but also with other countries on the continent.

The importance of Azerbaijan’s successful COP29 event and the adopted decisions, as well as cooperation relations between the two countries within the framework of the World Urban Forum to be held in 2026, were reviewed.

Other current issues and topics of mutual interest on the agenda were also discussed during the meeting.
