The Armenian Defense Ministry once again denied Baku's report on shelling of Azerbaijani positions on the border.
“The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry's report that allegedly from 22:20 on March 18 to 01:40 on March 19 Armenian Armed Forces units shelled Azerbaijani positions located in the eastern and southeastern sections of the border zone does not correspond to reality,” the ministry said.
The ministry recalled that the Armenian Prime Minister's Office proposed to create a joint mechanism to investigate ceasefire violations and/or information about them, but Azerbaijan has not yet responded to the proposal.
“The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia confirms that in accordance with the position of the RA Prime Minister's Office it is ready to investigate the facts confirming the report of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry in case of their transfer to Armenia,” the Defense Ministry noted.
The ministry stressed that Azerbaijan has not handed over any actual data or evidence of ceasefire violations by the RA Armed Forces units to Armenia at the moment.
Since March 16, Azerbaijan has regularly claimed that the Armenian Armed Forces have been shelling its positions, but Yerevan refutes these reports every time.
