Armenia and Greece hold talks to deepen bilateral economic cooperation

        Armenia's ambassador to Greece has held high-level talks with Greece's deputy foreign minister for economic diplomacy, as the two nations seek to expand bilateral trade and economic ties.

    Tigran Mkrtchyan, Armenia's Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Greece, met Haris Theocharis, the Greek official responsible for economic diplomacy, in a working discussion focused on unlocking new opportunities for cross-border economic collaboration.

    According to a statement from the Armenian Embassy in Greece, the meeting centred on practical steps to advance and diversify long-standing economic relations between the two Mediterranean and South Caucasus nations.

    Diplomatic talks touched on the EU's proposed Autonomous Trade Measures (ATMs) for Armenia, a key policy framework set to reshape Yerevan's export access to European markets. The new trade provisions are expected to create favourable conditions for Armenian goods entering the EU single market, while reinforcing Armenia-EU economic integration efforts.

    Though long-standing diplomatic allies, Armenia and Greece have sought in recent months to intensify functional cooperation beyond political ties, with trade promotion, market diversification and business engagement emerging as core priorities.

    No immediate new trade agreements were announced following the latest meeting, but both sides confirmed they would sustain ongoing diplomatic engagement to advance mutually beneficial economic initiatives.
