Another rally demanding new parliamentary elections is taking place in the center of Tbilisi, RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

Protest marches were held in different parts of the capital during the evening, later activists gathered on Rustaveli Avenue in front of the parliament building. The avenue is currently blocked to vehicular traffic, and patrol police brigades have been mobilized on the spot. Former President Salome Zurabishvili joined the protesters.

According to Georgian TV stations, protests are also taking place in other major cities of the country. Demonstrators are also demanding the release of those detained during the rallies.

There are continuous protests in Georgia demanding new parliamentary elections. The protests began after Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced on November 28, 2024 that he had decided to suspend consideration of the issue of starting negotiations on the country's membership in the European Union until 2028. Law enforcers detained several hundred people during the actions.
