Air defense forces shot down 7 AFU drones overnight over a number of Russian regions - Defense Ministry

YEREVAN, September 26 - Sputnik. Last night Russian air defense forces destroyed seven Ukrainian drones over three regions of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the Russian defense ministry.

“During the past night, an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack with the use of UAVs of aircraft type on objects on the territory of the Russian Federation was suppressed. On-duty air defense means destroyed seven Ukrainian UAVs: four UAVs over the territory of Belgorod region, one over the territory of Kursk region and two over the territory of Bryansk region”, - stated in the message.

We shall remind you that Ukrainian troops regularly shell and attack in various ways, including by means of UAVs, the border areas of the Russian Federation, in particular, Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk and Voronezh regions.

Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022. President Vladimir Putin called its goal “to protect people who have been subjected to abuse and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years.” For this purpose, he said, it is planned to carry out “demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine” and to bring to trial all war criminals responsible for “bloody crimes against civilians” in Donbass.
